A countdown timer for holidays and events

Most people land here with a simple question: how many days are left? CountdownEvent answers that with a live countdown timer. Public pages cover holidays such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, and New Year, plus religious dates such as Ramadan, Eid, Diwali, and Hanukkah. Each page shows the next date and the days, hours, minutes, and seconds remaining in your time zone.

Count down to what matters at home, too. A birthday, wedding, baby shower, graduation, trip, or exam has a date that belongs to you. Open its example countdown, choose Personalize, pick the day and a look, add your email, and get a link you can send.

How the public dates are set

Holiday countdowns use the next occurrence of a fixed or computed date. Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday of November. Easter is Western Easter Sunday. Memorial Day and Labor Day follow the Monday rules used in the United States. Super Bowl Sunday uses the published game date, and the timer ends at the start of that day, not at kickoff.

Religious dates can move. Ramadan and Eid follow the Islamic calendar and may shift by a day with the moon sighting. Diwali on this site uses the main night calculated for New Delhi. Hanukkah begins at sundown on the first night, even though the timer reaches zero at local midnight as that date begins. Each religious page says which calendar it follows.

Share the same clock

A countdown is more useful when the group sees the same numbers. Share copies a link, or saves an image for a message, a story, or a lock screen. Full screen is there if you want the timer on a TV the night before. Public holiday and religious pages open without an account. A personal countdown is saved with your email so you can find it later.

Use it while you wait for a holiday dinner, a wedding weekend, or the first morning of a trip. The timer is the point. The rest of the page is there so you know which date you are counting toward.

If you want the full list, open holiday and event countdowns. If the date is yours, make a timer and send it.
